This years I was lucky enough to do new experiences.
For the first time ever I took an airplane . Yes, for the first time.
It was a weird feeling actually, I wasn’t scared, I WAS EXCITED.
And where did it flew me? To Budapest.
It was also the first time that I’ve been there of course. I didn’t know what to except but I loved the city.
I’ve been there for 4 days.
Let’s start with the first one.
*** DAY ONE ***
In the morning we visited the gorgeous castle of Godollo where Princess Sissi spent her holidays with her husbands. I’ve been only inside the Palace where it wasn’t allowed to take pictures but there were a lot of rooms and some had colored walls. We couldn’t visit the gardens unfortunately. Later, after lunch , we made it to the Hotel which wasn’t amazing but I must say it was cute and they had eatable food.
We chilled the afternoon and after dinner we decided to explore the city at night, trying to find cool clubs or a bar to have a drink.
That moment was when I fell in love with the city. We’ve been in the most famous street were the architecture was incredible, tall white buildings and tiny streets, it felt like a movie.
The lights gave also a relaxing and lovely atmosphere.
*** DAY 2 ***
The second day after breakfast of course, we went to the Heroe’s Square which is between the old and modern museum.
We also visited the ” old spa”. The were incredible. Again, amazing architecture.
The best thing that we visited was the Parliament. I think is what I’ve loved the most. It’s huge.
I will let the photos speak.
Inside we couldn’t take many photos but it was beautiful of course, gold was EVERYWHERE.
Later one, after lunch in the city, we visited the ” Shoes on the Danube Bank”. A very touching moment, at least for me. They told us that during the World War militaries forced people to leave their shoes and everything before they shot them, letting them fall in the River.
*** DAY THREE ***
It was the day we had to do some shopping. I had my FIRST Starbucks ever, a Frapuccino of course ( #basic ) and we had the BEST VIEW on Budapest. We went to visit the Castle of Buda and it was incredible. When you are up there it’s amazing the view that you get to say, BREATHTAKING. Never saw something that beautiful.
We had the opportunity the afternoon to take a boat and have a view of the city and of the Parliament right from the Danubio.
The night before we left we also went high on a hill to see the city at night. BREATHTAKING, again.
The next day we had our fly after lunch so we said bye to the city and came back home.
Is it a city to visit? Absolutely YES. Budapest had one of the best architetture that I’ve ever seen. And it’s a different city we all should visit.
Have you ever been there? Did you love it or hated it?
